Public Consultation Event<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

All of the 142 responses received back from the recent parish-wide questionnaire exercise have been examined and the results collated and summarised in a newsletter (reproduced below).\u00a0 The almost 50% response rate is far above what was anticipated and the Parish Council would like to thank everybody who took the trouble to complete and return the questionnaire.\u00a0 The subsequent intention was to distribute a copy of the newsletter to every household in the parish ahead of the public consultation event that was held on Saturday 19 November at the Village Hall; however, some last minute logistical difficulties meant that only about half of the newsletters were actually delivered on time.\u00a0 Printed copies are still available at the village shop for anybody who would like one.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The public consultation event itself was a great success; members of the Parish Council and the Neighbourhood Planning Committee were on hand to discuss the questionnaire results and to explain key issues associated with the new Breckland Local Plan \u2013 which will likely be adopted during 2017 \u2013 and the expected next steps in developing the Rocklands Neighbourhood Plan itself.\u00a0 Around 30 residents turned up during the course of the day and a wide range of local topics was discussed \u2013 in particular: Traffic and road safety issues; future development of the school and playing fields; new housing requirements; possible expansion of mains sewerage to include Rockland St. Peter; concerns about the future of the White Hart Public House and continuing fears about flooding in All Saints.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

Feedback from residents was very positive and it is to be hoped that this initial interest will be expanded to encompass more people in the parish during the months ahead when other events of this type are planned to take place.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
