Minutes of the Annual General Meeting of Rocklands Parish Council
held on Monday 12 May 2008 in the Village Hall

Chairman - Councillor Jones proposed and Councillor Colenutt seconded that Councillor Cotes be re elected; there being no other nominations this was carried.
Vice Chairman - Councillor Cotes proposed and Councillor Jones seconded that Councillor Smith be re elected as Vice-Chairman; there being no other nominations this was carried.2. APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE

The minutes of the Annual Assembly meeting of the 7 April 2008 were initialled as a correct record.

Any matters arising were covered by agenda items5. POLICE LIAISON OFFICER
PCSO Gary Szabo introduced himself to the meeting and stated that he was now the local Parish Liaison Officer. He stated that there was now a Safe and Able team now stationed at Attleborough consisting of 6 officers a Sergeant and Inspector. Community action group meetings were to be held at Attleborough every 8 weeks with the next one being on 29 May at 7.30 in the Town Hall, to which we were welcome to attend to put any local problems. Attleborough Police Station is now manned for enquiries form Monday to Friday 9am to 5 pm by civilian volunteers and a longer opening time was hoped for if more volunteers came forward6. FINANCE

AUDIT
The Annual Governance Statement Section 2 of the Audit was discussed completed and signed by the Chairman and ClerkCLERKS PAY
It was proposed by Councillor Smith and seconded by Councillor Jones that the Clerk's pay should now be on scale 20 of the National scale;that is to say £ 9.242 per hour for 140 hours, which is £ 1293.88 per year or £ 323.47per quarter paid in arrears. This was approvedDONATION
The donations to the Churches, Playing field and Village Hall for churchyard and grounds maintenance were discussed and it was agreed that they should be £70 per venue. Clerk to prepare cheques for the next meeting7. PLANNING

8. HIGHWAYS
Councillor Colenutt reported that Anglia Water had been working in Thieves Lane to sort out a contamination problem caused by oil getting into the pipes. The contamination had been traced and remidial action taken. Bottled water had been delivered and the water was now nearly back to standard.9. FLOODING
Councillor Smith reported that he had chased up Sue Hammond at Breckland and it was hoped that progress was going to be made on the drain outfall in Low Lane. Another camera survey was promised to check a blockage near the public house10. CORRESPONDENCE
Items of immediate interest were brought to the Councillors' notice and the rest of the correspondence circulatedThere being no further business the meeting closed at 7.55 p.m.
