New Sewer for Rockland St Peter

”Traffic management on The Street to be extended until the 23 December.

We have started to install the gravity sewer and will be completed by end of play tomorrow 7/12/22 however we still need to complete the construction of our 3 new manholes and complete all reinstatement before we can remove the road closure. Due to the change in design, we needed to install additional manholes and use a different technique of open cut to install our gravity sewer pipe. Due to the changes we need to keep the traffic management in place until everything has been reinstated. This has caused our traffic management to be extended until the 23 December.
We will be starting our Christmas site shutdown on the 23 December and will be taking down our traffic management until the 3 January when we return to site. Hopefully we will have all work completed on ‘The Street’ by the 23 December so will not be returning to this road on the other side or Christmas. We have started the construction of the pumping station on Bell Lane/Chapel Street. This will be ongoing until the end of the scheme.”

The school, village hall, playing fields and local businesses remain open but people will need to follow the diversions to access them. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times
